Meeting the Dragons

Our local guide, Pak Yusuf, has been leading expeditions to Komodo Island for over 20 years. "The dragons are intelligent creatures," he explains as we carefully navigate the trails. Beyond the Dragons

While the Komodo dragons are the star attraction, the national park offers so much more. The waters surrounding the islands are home to over 1,000 species of fish, 260 species of coral, and frequent visits from manta rays, dolphins, and even whales.

Ibu Wati, our BFA dive coordinator, recommends the early morning dives at Manta Point. "The mantas come to feed on plankton at dawn. Swimming alongside these gentle giants is like dancing with angels," she shares with a warm smile.
